The Sustainable Christmas Cracker
For this project I redesigned a traditional Christmas cracker to be more sustainable, after finding out that over 300 million crackers are pulled every year in the UK alone, which results in high amounts of waste and a majority of the waste cannot be recycled.
By using cartonboard for the cracker, it means the cracker can be recycled and reduces the waste created by the cracker. Once pulled it also can be transformed into a Christmas hat, further reducing waste and creating a more durable, adjustable Christmas hat for the consumers.
I applied Christmas themed graphics to the cracker, using a repeated graphic to help disguise where the net has been rolled into a cylinder.
