Temporary tattoos about fads

A fad is "an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived; a craze."

Tattoos have an expansive history  in many cultures; with rituals, pain and much consideration often going into creating one. They represent identity, protection or worship and are (supposedly) there for life.

Temporary tattoos are like fads. They have a lot of initial aesthetic appeal, but that dulls over time and eventually disappears from sight and memory.
The style was influenced by pop art.

Pop art was once described as “popular, transient, expendable, low cost (and) mass produced," all words that can be applied to the nature of fads.
The tattoos fading from sight/memory (below).
