Late Shift Studio is an audio service business based in the Nashville area of Tennessee. This is the final logo design we ended up with after several versions and modifications.
This was one of the first concepts I had for the brand logo. I felt it the alarm clock would be iconic, simple, and directly relates to the name (late shift). In the form factor of an antique alarm clock, many elements can be found: An "L" (for Late) and two "S" letters (for Shift and Studio), a pair of headphones as the bells, and a sound wave signal (relating to the fact that it is an audio business).
This version came quickly after the first. It merges the clock with a service-sign-type form factor.
The client wanted a more traditional and simple overall design so I simplified the clock, placed it inside of a box, and added a running .25 inch cable (a cable commonly used with sound equipment) throughout the logo. Eventually, the clock was removed.
Alternative circular design created in order to emphasize the audio cable.
Conceptual business cards, sent to the client as well.
