Whilst working at The Merchants, I was asked to help design the new menu. I had free reign, I wanted it plain and simple using only black, white and grey. With the simplistic layout that's easy to read. The main feature that the chef wanted was the really sell the burgers, and so that is why I set it out like I did, with "The First XV" being prominent. I set them out like a player card in Rugby. This brand new menu is a smaller, more compact menu including healthier options, the full burger list and also some meal deals! In the running up to the pub launching the menu I created some "Coming Soon" posters to create interest.

Before the menu was A4 and in my opinion that was too big for a menu and so pushed for them to reconsider and make the menu A5... Turned out to be a great success as everything is more together and in my opinion, easier to read.
