light
through needle felting, sewing, weaving, knitting, and natural dyeing processes,
I’ve made personal objects that create a therapeutic environment by making an ongoing activity of remembering to be mindful of my thoughts. defining light as empty space for hope and infinite possibilities, and darkness as existing perspectives that may limit the view of the future, the tactile activities of squeezing, touching, molding, and adding to the objects represents putting aside the darkness to dwell in the light of possibility, even momentarily. the flexible grid also represents leaving rigid perspectives behind to explore new ideas.
