Nostalgic Memories Series

Memories form and vanish, usually disregarded. But nostalgic memories linger in our thoughts. When a familiar smell floats through the air, or a certain song comes on and lyrics jump to our lips, these memories uncover themselves. Our minds tend to glorify these memories to be greater than they really were, yet for whatever reason we still yearn for them. Remembering a time of being younger and simpler – consciousness floating through and fading in and out, looking for something more. Driving around the loop for hours, swirling in the hazy passenger seat. Watching the sky change from blue to pink to purple as the hours pass. Driving farther and farther away from the tangled thoughts that came. Calling back these memories is like trying to recall a dream, or grasping at vapors. There are ones I want to remember, and ones I try to forget. The angst and confusion woven in with my carefree, blissful essence. How badly I wanted to leave, not realizing I was living in utopia.
