A vision in a dream. A Fragment.
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.
~Samuel Taylor Coleridge
The woven piece is my interpretation of the poem Kubla Khan by the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. It is an interactive art piece, which can change its structure through touch. The fragment of shapes and structures created by different beholders, comprises of a story or vision in its self.
The alliteration of weft threads within the warp threads, creates a Huck pattern. I have used metal wire, stainless steel yarn, and thermoplastic yarn to make this interactive hand woven piece. It gives different effects in dark and light.
