AZIZ ALI DIGITAL PORTFOLIO

For this project I created an Altered Profile. Every job requires you to handover a CV. A piece of paper that shows your prospective employer what your skills, interests and hobbies are as well as your potential prospects and aspirations etc. As designers, artist and photographers, we produce portfolios for prospective employers and clients. So I combined both elements into a graphic designers visual CV. I designed a booklet that represents my personal CV and an ongoing portfolio of my work. Each page was influenced by a different artist and style and contained different information about myself, something that would be in a normal CV.
These two pieces are a series from my first project altered profile. My influence for theses piese were Pauler Sher. my intention were to mimic shers style and techniques and create my own piece.

For this piece I was inspired by Aldo Tolino.
To create these pieces I took photos of myself and then printed it out. After that I tried to mimic Tolino’s style by folding the paper in different ways to create an effect and illusion with the photos.
For these pieces I was inspired by Hattie Stewart. To create these pieces I first took a photo of myself and then edited it on Photoshop, by doing levels and curves. After that I printed the photo out and put a Transparent paper on top of the photo and added my own illustrations. Then I photocopied the illustration and put it in illustrator with the photo of me and lined them both up. After that I added colour and shadow to complete the piece.
These are iconography pieces that I have created. Each icon represents either my hobbies, interest, passion and or skills. To create these pieces I first drew them out in my sketchbook, after that I took the drawings into photoshop and did my levels and curves and then in illustrator I added the colour.
For this piece I was inspired by Loui Jover. I collaged pieces of ripped pages from a book onto a blackboard. And then dabbed it with some coffee water to create and old effect on it. After that I printed a picture of myself and and cut it in pieces and composed it onto the board. Then I printed a few more photos and and cut them out in different shapes and arranged it in different ways on to the board. Finally to finish of the piece I added some illustration on top of the work.
For this pieces I was inspired by Shepard Fairey. To create this piece I first took a photo of myself into Photoshop and did my levels and curve. After that I used the Posterize tool and then threshold tool to create a black and white image of myself and saved it. then I repeated this step on the same photo 4 times but using less threshold each time and then saving it. After that I took the 4 images into illustrator. In illustrator I layered them on top of each other, but using a different colour each time to create this piece of work.
This piece was inspired by David Carson. To create this piece I went on illustrator and started writing text about myself that you would find on a normal CV and then arranging it in different ways to mimic David Carson's style of work. For one of the image I took a close up picture of a tree and then put it on Photoshop and did my levels and curves then I used the  Posterize and threshold tool to create a black and white background for one of my pieces
For this project I produced a body of work on the theme of
“Perfections” exploring the meaning of the term and creating a portfolio of work around it. I chose to focus perfection within fashion. I looked at the idea that in fashion there is no room for messing up and everything has to be perfect. In fashion a piece of clothing is a plain canvas for the artist/designer’s work to feature on. My main focus for this project was to create a set of dress designs that has been influenced by a series of artists, incorporating patterns and colour.
This is the development of my final piece and the artist research. This was an experiment that I did using illustrator and the artist ‘Sarah Morris’ leading up to my final piece.
This is another development piece of my final piece and the artist research. This was an experiment that I did using illustrator and the artist ‘Bryce Hudson’ leading up to my final piece.
These are sketches I did in my book For my final piece.
This was my independent project on the theme of perfection. I was looking at “perfecton in fashion.” For these dresses I was influenced by different artist e.g. Matt W Moore,Olivia Sautreuil, Bryce Hudson and Beatriz Milhaze etc. To create these pieces I drew them in my sketchbook as a template and then scanned it into illustrator and created the designs inspired by my artists,  incorporating the patterns.

This was my first commissioned piece of work. This was a £14 million project for the company Together Housing, I co-designed the logo for their new housing initiative - Riverside Heights.
This was another commissioned project, set by King George’s Hall in Blackburn. It was for an event called “1973 The Year Bowie Came To Blackburn.” To create these pieces I had many meetings with The Bureau Arts Centre and we went over what was wanted. I had to create 4 3x7 meter banners to go on display at the event, celebrating the year 1973, when many incredible bands played in Blackburn.
The Bureau Arts Centre wanted the 4 banners to replicate music posters that came out in 1973. However I replaced the images with people that went to the 1973 Bowie concert in Blackburn and they wanted the text to be replaced with quotes from interviews that The Bureau did with the same people.
