Santa Fe, Argentina Travel Poster by Freddy and Horacio

Research

For our research, we searched for Iguazu Falls on Unsplash because we knew that Brophy students visit this place. We also wanted Iguazu Falls to be an important part of our poster because it looks pretty and natural. Also, we asked Mr. Borboa to send us pictures of the Santa Fe, Argentina immersion trip. The photo we used that Mr. Borboa sent was a picture that looked like the Brophy chapel because we thought it represented Brophy's campus. Another thing that we used in our final project was the sun of the Argentina flag to represent the country overall.

Inspiration
The poster on the left inspired us because it had a tower and sun but we decided to upgrade the sun and make it the sun from the flag of Argentina. The poster on the right inspired us because it portrays Iguazu Falls, and our main subject is also Iguazu Falls. Both posters also contain blue and orange just like our final product.
Sketches

For our sketches, we tried combining many aspects from our photos from research. In the end, we decided to create the sketch with the waterfall, tower, and sun(5th sketch.)
Draft
After this draft, we decided to change the text font because it looked boring and not very attracting. We also changed the color of the text to match with the sun so that our poster would look more balanced overall. Our text did not stand out much so we also made it larger. Since our leaves looked sharp and unrealistic, we decided to go with the vintage poster look, also known as WPA, to make them look smoother. One last thing we edited was the branches. We had them overlap the tower so that it seemed that the tower wasn't in the foreground.
