Beijing, China Travel Poster

Travel Poster
Intro: After taking intro to graphic design for less Than 2 weeks, we began a project involving photoshop. First, we had to sketch general ideas of how we wanted to execute this project. There were many trial-and-errors along the way, and finding the right picture was the toughest part. After finally finding the right one, we truly believe that we captured Beijing’s emotions into this travel poster.
Inspiration: This city of Beijing, China is a model metropolis, infused with a strong Chinese culture. For the not, we opted for a ninja-like aesthetic that resembled quick brush strokes. Beijing is an international hub for tech companies, businesses and real estate. For the main picture, we needed a high-rise view with neon colors. Beijing at night, is booming and the city never sleeps. So for our travel poster, we integrated saturated colors to resemble the cities constant stimulation.
Roughs and Thumbnail Sketches
Thought Process: After we decided to create a poster of Beijing we went straight to our notebooks. We knew that we wanted to incorporate a major landmark or piece of Beijing. We based most of our drawing around the downtown are and the liveliness of the culture.
Continued: Then after we went into photoshop and wanted to see how it would look from all angles, filters, and colors.
Compositions and Final Project
Final Project

After viewing all our compositions and other options we decided to go with this one because we liked the neon color and the way it  popped or appealed to us. We believe that it describes the busy, bright culture of China.
