The purpose of the Type Specimen Poster is to use what we learned about layout, composition, visual hierarchy, and other graphic design rules and lessons that had been taught in the past quarter. It's also a chance to be able to use a limited amount of tools, which were only text, shape and line. Those were my main tools within Illustrator as most type specimens simply focus on using a minimal amount of tools. This project only used the Avenir typeface, with its normal, bold and light italicized font. The type of color scheme I used was monochromatic with multiple shades of blue. During this, I never used any outside resources other than using Pinterest for inspiration. By the way, the design of the trees and the miniature character at the top were inspired by a well-known quote the designer had once said.
