Information Design
This project was created for my information design class. The goal for this project was to create infographics on a topic of our choice. We were to show this information in a physical print format that could be used to explain the issue at hand.
I began by looking into climate change and environmental issues. Once digging deeper and deeper I noticed that a major problem revolving around climate change is deforestation. After learning more about deforestation I noticed that the leading cause of this issue is the over exaggerated need for palm oil. Many trees are being clear cut to create palm oil. After reading more about palm oil production I noticed just how hard it is to find information on how this product is being produced. This issue is so hidden that I decided I wanted to create a map showing the process of how palm oil is being made. I believe this issue needs to be shared and more needs to be done to keep this from being a major contribution towards destroying our planet.
I shared this information at the York Ontario Climate Consortium Poster Presentation in 2017 to help get my message across and hope to be able to explain the information I have discovered at future events.
