Wyrm Quest - Dungeon Crawler 2
Wyrm Quest is a platformer RPG made using a custom game engine made in Java. It is the second game I'm the most proud of, also for the player to create their own levels at ease. Multiple enemy types, custom sound/music engine, and multiple tile types allow for a variety of to be had with this game.
The Level Creation
All levels are created using a custom level loading system, which takes a png image and coverts it into a playable level.
Stats and Progression System
Wyrm Quest features a fully functional stats and leveling system, where the player can choose to upgrade either his/her attack or defense when they gain a new level. There also is a proficiency systems that works alongside the stats increasing as the player spend more time in a level (proficiency has a chance to give a small bonus to the respective stat).
Coins, Relics and Level Inversion
Alongside normally leveling a player's stats, they can also purchase point to put in those stats via coins. Relics on the other hand are a sort of collectible the player accumulates by finding them throughout the level. If a player collects a Relic, the level is inverted and they must travel back to the location of origin in order to return to the regular level.
Limitless amount of levels.
Due to the game's ability to read custom level files, a near limitless amount of levels can be created by the users themselves to play.
