I like reading which takes most of my leisure time, so when I did this assignment and found this NPO, Project Gutenberg, I decided to become a volunteer and make some contribution to this organization.
Project Gutenberg (PG) is a volunteer effort to digitize and archive cultural works, to "encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks". It was founded in 1971 by Michael S. Hart and is the oldest digital library. Most of the items in its collection are the full texts of public domain books. The project tries to make these as free as possible, in long-lasting, open formats. Most releases are in the English language, but many non-English works are also available.
Project Gutenberg is a NPO, so I wanted to make this project in order to touch people’s hearts and inspire them to see its benefits. I used many simple figures, such as dots, lines and other geometric forms, as well as simple colors, white and Dark red in order to emphasize the simplicity of the project’s concept.
I also used people from different countries in order to deliver the voice-over messages. This strategy aspires to recruit more volunteers, from a range of countries, to join and contribute to the organization. It also suggests that there is no limitation to the Project Gutenberg.
