The problem

Narraciones Indígenas de La Sierra is a book that compiles the oral stories derived from the traditional Colombian indigenous group of Arahuacos that live in the upper valleys of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains in the northern region of Colombia.
This printed and audio book is intended to help spread the cultural heritage of the Arahuaca community to other people in Colombia and to provide a way for the indigenous children to read the stories of their ancestors in their native language.  Since a large percentage of the indigenous community do not speak Spanish, this book was printed in two languages, Spanish and Ika, which is one of the first of its kind.
Since these stories had been orally passed down for centuries, we wanted to create an application where the reader could listen to these stories as they were traditionally inherited from the Arahuaco ancestors.
