BROOCH "HOMO DIGITALIS"
2017
Materials: copper, silver, vitreous enamel
Measurements: 55mm*48 mm*24mm
This work refers to the idea, that since the beginning of the Internet era more and more people have started to live their own virtual life practically being placed into a digital cocoon. The intensity of our digital involvement grows on a daily basis, and so does our addiction. Scientists have even noticed the problem and named it Internet addiction disorder. It effects not only adults, children are exposed to the digital influence from their early years.
What would happen next? How far our addiction would go? Where is the limit, a threshold of it? A fetus, whose umbilical cord is twirled in the form of @, is a symbol of these drastic changes.
