This ‘mudra’ or hand gesture is called ‘Bhramara’ and is used in the Indian Classical dance form Bharatnatyam to denote a bee, a parrot, a cuckoo or a heron.
A dissection drawing of this 'mudra' has been done here, showcasing the structures seen under the skin:muscles, ligaments, bone, arteries and fat.
Done as part of the Medical Art coursework at University of Dundee.
