I wanted to do something nice. I've always wanted a big led cube but they are just too expensive. So I thought about making one myself. Starting from 4x4x4 and going onward from that. Project went just fine, just lost a couple of years of my life in soldering the LEDs, but what wouldn't an aspiring tinkerer want to do for his freetime projects?

Fast forward and here we're seeing Arduino going into 2 8-bit shift registers to gain proper control over individual LEDs.

First I wanted to do the legendary raindrop effect.

Improved it some by making single raindrops go up and down.

Then I wanted a graphical effect - a cube of light captured inside the LED cube and trying to find its way out.
