Human and Animal, 2015

I am interested in the differences between humans and animals. Do we need to draw a line between animals and humans? Is it all right to establish a solid boundary to exclude animals from human superiority? I have used three different strands to explore this relationship between humans and animals.
Teddy bears are a kind of toy I grew up with like most every child in the world. They have been treated as humans and are used to provide enjoyment to humans. The teddy bear is an emblematic symbol of humanised animals. I make the teddy bear out of my clothes to express a different way of human and animals’ relationship. The various fabrics represent different personalities of the teddy bears but are also a reflection of myself.
Not only are humans and animals living beings, but plants are also part of this. I have anthropomorphised a plant blur the relationship between people and plant. I have given the plant a name, made friends with her, spent time with her every day and recorded her daily life. In the end, Barbara sits on a chair, which has been made for her, and a wall with a selection of her daily photos.
This idea is from qualified pork, which needs stamping in China to prove they are healthy. Every pig needs this quality inspection. Pigs are common animalised animals where most of them live only for being our food. We judge them and eat them. Humans also use animals in phrases to describe humans; it not only judges humans but also judge animals at the same time. It is like the animalised human. The expresses the idea of judgment and the boundary between animals through animalised humans and animalised animals.
