As the season begins changing and I experience my first fall in over two years, my choice to paint the abstracted landscape here in Lacoste seems more and more like the right one.
In my paintings I am taking the local landscape that I experience every day and abstracting them to better convey the awe that they instill in me every time I catch a glimpse of them. Through the use of thin layers of transparent paint, I am building up compositions one meditated brushstroke at a time. In this way, each painting is not only a goal, but a process and a journey as well.
Each painting consists of many layered, transparent brushstrokes that are layered one by one to create meditative pieces that communicate how I feel about my surroundings.
