Sketchbook Excerpts — 2017
The design process for a fine artist always begins with simple sketches on paper. This helps to translates thoughts & ideas before committing to the digital execution. It also helps narrow down various directions, and weed out the ideas that simply won't work. Fine art informs my designs on a daily basis. As someone who's used to the chemical smells of traditional oil paints (rich with lead and mercury), thinners, & wax heating on a burner, dirtying my hands before turning to my computer is the most familiar, the most reliable way for me to work.
