PAWLINO
The silent piano

Pawlino is a keyboard that makes you "feel" music, it can be used as a learning tool and toy for deaf kids.
The uniqueness and diferentiator about Pawlino is that it gives the opportunity to play an instrument to
everyone who has any kind of hearing disability or deafness

 THE SOFTWARE
Arduino and Processing softwares were used to control each input (pressing the different keys)
had a diverse and unique output on each key (different virbation times)

THE HARDWARE
An Arduino Mega, a motherborad, 8 push buttons, plenty colored cables, 4 motors od firect current,
4mm of wood, sheets, 5mm aclyric sheets ( 3 different colors) was requiered in order to
 create the piano prototype

THE BRANDING

The name Pawlino comes from the character Paws, which is a white cat with blue
eyes, chosen because most cats of this breed suffer from congenital deafness

The logo are music bar waves mixed with piano notes, contrasting black and white like the keys
plus a bit of color (from our brand color palette)

The app is connected via bluethooth to the piano and allows the kids to create their
own profile, record their tunes, see other user’s compositions and share their own

THE SHOWCASE
For the packing we engraved the isotype and logo on the top of the wooden box, then
the piano prototype was packed and sent to Rome where we had the chance to display it
