A Disciple's Devotion

Each year, Northside Church publishes a devotional book for the season of Lent. For 2017, I collaborated with our Adult Discipleship Director to create something completely different than anything done in years past. This book was designed to engage the user in mindful devotion and practice. The use of white space throughout was very intentional. The major metaphor used in the book was that of a home being demolished and rebuilt. All the included images are my original artwork. The images that follow are an excerpt from the beginning of the book.

This image was originally taken with a 35mm camera and developed in a darkroom for a college photography class. I created this sketch from my original photograph and then manipulated it in Photoshop.

To go along with the Lent Devotional, I published a series of posts on social media using content from the devotional along with original photography not included in the devotional. The major metaphor was the demolition and reconstruction of a house. The following photographs represent part of the Instagram series published to compliment the readings.
