Imagine you are a student, you have just finished university and now you need to think about what you are going to do for the rest of your life. Maybe you want to become independent and save up for a car or save money to move into your own place. Alternatively you are a young professional with  ambitions that have been sitting at the back of your head for ages but the business of everyday life has left little space for you to stop and plan for future needs and desires.   

This Is an app that is designed for a fictional bank, Absolutely, to help their users to manage their money more effectively. The aim is to help and encourage young people between the ages of 20-28 to go about setting their goals in a more creative and visual manner. The user can set-up a goal and then create a vision board to help with the visualization of the goal as well as take notes and plan out effectively how they are going to achieve their goals. 

Through extensive research we have come to the conclusion that students and young professionals don't set money goals because they seem unachievable, to far in the future to consider important at the time or they rely on their parents financially.  As a result they don’t think about setting money goals when they leave and are not able to become financially independent and have to rely on their parents for years after they have finished school of tertiary education.

The app connects to your savings account so people can conveniently allocate their savings to specific goals

We added pie charts so that the user can see their progress and color coded the goals so that the user can easily see their progress on each goal. 

We put the navigation bar at the bottom because that is the most convenient place your fingers to reach. We can see this in apps such as Instagram. 

We used the dark blue from the brand colors to create a professional look and used a white background to give it a less serious look. We were going for serious but still fun. 

To add more of a fun element we also used rounded corners in the top nav, the buttons and other elements. 

The logo is medal in the shape of a V which communicates a sense if achievement when people look at the app. 

We approached this goal setting app in such a way that the users can focus not only on the goal but also on the journey to reaching the goal. 

This app is designed to encourage students and young professionals to prioritize their goals, visualize and plan their goals so that they can think about the future as well as the present in managing their savings.
