For this project, myself and a small team designed assistive technology to aid a woman living with severe General Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
She is 62 years old and a former photographer, and through the interview process we discovered that she feels like she is stuck in a routine but her agoraphobia prevents her from comfortably having new experiences and making new connections. We also discovered that she loves having her art on display and connecting with people through social media.
We decided to create a challenge-based photography app that would encourage her to venture further and further out of her comfort zone and allow her to make new connections with other people with the same interests. In addition, we designed a digital picture frame that connects to the app via Bluetooth and allows her to easily display her art, as well as a 180 degree camera that allows her to relive positive experiences.
