Sandro Silk Scarves

Scarves tufting softly over baskets among baskets of vintage silk designs is a reoccurring dream which materializes often in reality on a hunt feeding my obsession of collecting this classic accessory. The tasteful Parisian look is seemingly always on trend. Inspired by the French brand Sandro, Paris’s uniquely illustrated silk scarves, my hand-to digitally designed scarves are visual narratives of darkness and light. I explore duality between day and night, pleasure and pain, luck and skill through drawn motifs and French lingual elements. The lighter scarf proclaims : “Doigts croisés,” meaning “fingers crossed,” and the darker scarf displays the text “Donnez moi une change” meaning “take a chance on me.” I wish to tell a story comparing fate with intention, questioning the role of destiny in our uncontrollable world Their colors call on a duality between calculated feelings and inexplicable passion, as well as a longing for the magic within the Parisian way of life.
With my scarves wrapped around the neck of a bold, expressive and passionate woman, destiny has a true contestant.
