Cinnamon (Sequential Art)

Cinnamon was a project for a third year sequential art university brief. Where we had to adapt an existing story into a graphic novel or children's book.

I adapted the short story Cinnamon by Neil Gaiman into a graphic novel.

I chose to interpret the story in an ancient India inspired setting, due to the fact that the setting is described as “an old hot country” and the characters are royalty. I chose the charcoal-esque line style in order to reflect the age of the setting. The line texture gives a more natural and traditional feel, rather than modern and crisp which would feel out of place in this older context.
