Camelot 3000 [Concept & Character Design]

Story Summary
In the year 3000, Camelot faces its possible downfall.
After years of unrest and battle under the king Uther, Arthur has taken the throne and brought Camelot at last to a state of peace. The technological advances made with the aid of the underground magical wellspring of Avalon are shared with all within the city, and none want for anything as Arthur seeks to right the wrongs of his father with his wife Guinevere and advisor Merlin at his side.
When a woman and her son come to Camelot seeking sanctuary after her family had been unjustly exiled by Uther, Arthur immediately welcomes them with open arms, unknowing of the deception unfolding before him.
The woman is, in fact, Arthur's illegitimate half-sister Morgan le Fey, and she soon turns on the hospitality of the royal family, usurping them using wild magic and seating her son, Mordred, on the throne.
In the process of escaping, Arthur and Guinevere are both seriously injured; Guinevere is chosen by the sword Excalibur, which gifts her new legs, while Arthur is left to doubt his right to lead his people.
With wild magic running rampant and the city in turmoil, Guinevere (with the aid of the aged knight Merlin) must lead her people in rebellion against the usurpers, as Arthur makes a final confrontation against the sins of his father and his place in Camelot.
Initial rough concept of Camelot, as corrupted and destroyed by the introduction of Morgan's wild magic.

Initial rough concept of the underground Avalon; initially intended to be much more technological, eventually scrapped.

Early Arthur silhouettes, before his role in the story was decided.
Early Guinevere silhouettes, when her role in the story was still one of two options: Damsel in distress, or rebellion leader.
Early Merlin silhouettes. Attempts to portray both his perceived wealness and his strength/ability as a knight.
Early Mordred Silhouettes. Attempts to show him as regal, but also his mother's influence.
Early Morgan silhouettes. While the base ideas of her design were decided on, execution was still in question.
Character sketches in a line-up for comparison. The Guinevere in the lower left corner was ultimately the outfit used, with leg prosthetics more akin to the upper left corner.
Character sketches. Ultimately the hair of the bottom Morgan was adapted for the final design, as was the armor of the top Merlin.
Character sketches. Ultimately the lower right Arthur is closest to the final design, and the bottom Mordred was used as the final design. The face and hair of the upper Merlin were used, as was the lower Merlin, though the chair design was greatly altered.
Further character sketches. Ultimately the outfit of the top Morgan was adapted for the final design.
"The Legendary Beasts of Avalon"
Rumored to have once been living beasts, they are now creatures of metal and magic. As a former knight, Merlin was once bonded to one of these beasts, and calls on it for aid in the time of turmoil.
The beasts reside in the underground wellspring of Avalon, sleeping until their Riders come and awaken them. They are protected from the wild magic of Morgan by the magic of Avalon and the remaining power of the entrapped Lady of the Lake.
