Gas, which moves like a vapour, brings to mind ghosts, phantoms and other things associated with death.
- Lan Kikuchi

These ink drawing portraits were based on the old photographs from multiple countries during World War One. Poison gas has been regarded as the most feared of all weapon in World War One. Around 1,250,000 human beings suffered from the poison gas, which included 91,000 fatalities. The biochemical weapon, especially be aimed at mustard gas, can cause both external and internal blisters by merely exposing within several hours. Dues to the horrible damage, poison gas mask was used to protect people from the gas.

The animals, soldiers then were covered all emotion, fear, sorrow, helplessness under the poison mask, no matter where they were staying. However, the terror impact did not reduce even they wore masks with a frightening appearance and voice.
