Project Overview
Holy Cross Lutheran School proudly announced the launch of their new website: http://lovemyschool.net/. The August, 2012 launch coincided with the start of the new school year and features a custom-built WordPress site allowing easy access for completing registration, enrollment, online payments, viewing schedules, calendars and school lunch menus.
Goals
“We were looking for ways to support the currently enrolled families, allowing them to connect with the teachers in each class, track activities scheduled through the classrooms, the school office, PTL, Athletics, and Booster Club,” said Katherine Wallace, Technology Coordinator for Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School.
Lovemyschool.net features school news, events, calendars, classroom, admissions and family and church information, also featuring a lunch calendar that can be used as an online order form. Other features include the ease and ability to enroll, register and pay tuition online. “Online registration forms, online payments and applications, help us to reach the families of today who are becoming more and more accustomed to a paperless world,” said Wallace.
Holy Cross Lutheran School’s new website was created to display their mission as both a church and school: to reach out and partner with parents in raising Christ-centered children, educating them in their faith and giving them a strong academic foundation as well.
Design
The website design needed to be an integrated piece of the church and school as a whole. Holy Cross Lutheran Church had previously launched a new website last year, http://holycrosslutheran.net/; both the church and school sites had the goal to better unify church and school audiences and connect them as one support unit. Our website design carried through to help unify the online presence and community for both the church and school.
