The goal of this illustration was to illustrate an everyday item in the style of an artist we admire, and add a personal touch. The chosen artist for this illustration is Cedric Peyravernay, the concept artist behind the Dishonored video game. He's well known for his use of cross hatching in digital illustration and very dark subject matter. I attempted to recreate this by using a soft brush for blending and a harder brush for the cross hatching, I also decided to add a crack in the Xacto Knife to mimic his style in subject matter.
