EssentiAl is my proposal for a design contest organized by Nespresso. It shows secondary aluminium obtained from used coffee capsules as a valuable and attractive material with wide range of applications through a collection of products sharing one design language.

Rather than proposing a single product I've decided to come up with a design collection. The whole product family uses the same extruded aluminium profile as the main construction element. This makes its production easy and cost effective. Each of the products is then personalized through details that resemble Nespresso capsules both by color and shape.

The modularity makes EssentiAl suitable for everyone. The very minimalistic design and application of Nespresso capsule colors targets customers with premium design taste. The versatility opens space for new ideas making it appealing for creative minds. Furthemore these products can easily become part of the Nespresso showrooms and installations.

Extruded profiles are one of the most common applications of aluminium. They're easy to produce and very versatile. They can be CNC machined, turned , laser cut, threaded, brushed, blasted and anodised which opens virtualy endless posibilities for further applications of this concept.
