NEMO – Life in the Universe
CAMPAIGN : FILM, PRINT, ONLINE
The ‘Life in the Universe’ exhibition at the NEMO Science Museum will take you on a voyage of discovery to the farthest corners of the universe. Past stars many billions of years old, to planets that may or may not be able to support life. On the way, you will also discover where you come from. After all, you are made of the same tiny particles as those distant stars and planets.
We went over the moon and crafted our own galaxy for this film. Toxic planets, dinosaurs and UFO’s, they all fly around in this space campaign that was launched online, in print and in movie theaters all over Amsterdam.

Behind the Scenes
TRAVELING TROUGH SPACE
TRAVELING TROUGH SPACE
The dinosaur-to-human part was made with a truckload of tiny styrofoam balls, laid out in a small cast. It's blown away with a hairdryer and in postproduction reversed and put together.
The movement of stars and planets through the galaxy, was all done by hand. This took forever to get just right but (of course) was a lot of fun! Check out the behind the scenes.

The Making of
HANDCRAFTED Galaxy
We crafted by hand a galaxy full of planets and UFO's using toy figures as a base. We sculpted textures in the right size and shape with clay. Next step was prepping and painting with acrylics and spraypaint.
