This print is inspired by the cypress tree, depicted as a variation of the tree of life motif, and a contemporary of the Sanganeri buti. This motif symbolizes everlasting and eternal life. Culturally significant in all facets and forms of Persian design, the cypress was the most popular tree used in the Persian gardens (Achaemenid's architecture: 550 - 330 BC). These trees are celebrated for their immense lifespans; the Sarv(Cypress) of Abarukh, in Iran, at 4500 years, is the oldest living tree today.
