Helping Entrepreneurs Create Disruptive Solutions For Their Businesses
A Workshop That Provides Entrepreneurs With Tools to be More Innovative.
Client
Hayana, a multi-disciplinary design platform, dedicated for design solutions and consists of a Design Studio operating between Beirut and Paris, a Workshop for cultural and artistic activities and a Venue for art exhibitions and cultural events.
THE Challenge
The challenge is to deliver a workshop for entrepreneurs to help them create innovative solutions for their startup idea, or create disruptive solutions for their businesses.
THE Team
With Hanaa Rassy, the founder of Hayana, I planned the marketing and implementation of the workshop. I facilitated the delivery of a lecture followed by practical activities for six entrepreneurs.
Project duration
The workshop was planned for 4 weeks and delivered during 2 days, 3-hour sessions.
THE Process
For the content of this workshop, I used several methods that I learned at SCAD and techniques that I read in books. Mainly, I was inspired by the book Disrupt written by Luke Williams. I wanted the entrepreneurs the learn about user-centered research, prototyping, and collaboration.
Outcome
The workshop consisted of small presentations that explained theories followed by examples, then every participant would apply the tools to their business. Between the two workshop days, the participants had a research homework to conduct in their business area. As a facilitator, I motivated and helped each entrepreneur to discover opportunities, generate ideas and shape solutions.
Impact
Every participant left the workshop with solutions for their business and tools to replicate for other business opportunities. One participant, for example, a life coach, worked on finding her own path in the coaching field by developing a working solution for intimacy coaching for women. Another participant wanted to differentiate herself from the market by working on a solution for a small interior design studio for cut-to-size, pre-designed solutions. The workshop was well-received and the participants learned new design skills.
