Fashion events are an effective marketing strategy which increases brand awareness and can be used as a platform to launch new products. In this course students came together to execute an event from concept to completion with a desired theme. Working in a collaborative environment each student was assigned a role and learned about project management within event execution. An understanding of the relationships between advertising, direct marketing, sales, special events, public relations, artistic management and visual merchandising show how they can be combined to create a production which attracts the end user.

‘Total Work of Art’ was a student lead non-profit event where guests were able to fully immerse themselves into the local art scene. An open house art show during the day showcased student work from The Visual College of Art and Design, which lead to a cocktail hour and then a fashion show featuring the schools fashion student’s creations in the evening. I took on the role as Art Curator, which included selecting art work from students and organizing them for the exhibition. I also created the graphic elements for the show which included invitations, posters and decal designs.
