Project Summary
Makinohara is considered a luxury green tea in Japan. The Joyo bank competition was to repackage and design Makinohara tea. The new packaging must encourage young women to buy it. The organic round shape of the bamboo pots are influenced by the structure of the green tea farms in East Asia. It was essential to portray the cleanliness of Japanese culture and the healthiness of green tea through the packaging. By applying The 3 R’s (reduce, reuse and recycle), the entire product is completely sustainable - this was the USP.
