I started playing around with the idea of making Procreate brushes with opaque blurry features to save time on adding a drop shadow.. From there, I wondered if I could also somehow instantly add highlights and multiple dimensions to the brush stroke. With some trail and area, and using the cut out feature that Procreate offers, Stackable Layer One Stroke Brushes were born. Think PS Layer Styles, for Procreate. All images are the same brush stroke and original design...with a little nudge here and a little nudge there.
