STEELCASE

A lookbook to showcase Steelcase' broad, new range of fabrics and their various features.

As a furniture manufacturing company, a top priority for Steelcase is connecting with the architecture and design community. We were tasked with creating a lookbook that would be sent out to individuals within this community that introduced a variety of Steelcase’ new, bold fabrics and showcased their unique qualities.

The theme of the book revolved around the concept of materials and the important role they play in the overall design of a space— something we knew would resonate with the audience. To drive this idea home, it was decided that the layout should consist of mostly photography-heavy spreads and minimal written content. Full spread close-ups and in-context shots of furniture in homes and office spaces were used to illustrate the wide array of fabric options Steelcase has on offer. Where copy was introduced, it spoke about the textiles’ qualities such as sustainable production, durability, and ultimately their beauty and craft.

Steelcase gave us the opportunity to oversee the production of this book from start to finish. Our role included everything from curating the photography selection, designing the page layouts and specifying the paper stock and binding style to overseeing the printing and liaising with the print house.
