ECUA Carriage Hills Tank and Water Treatment Facility

ECUA Carriage Hills Tank and Water Treatment Facility
The 20-Year Master Plan and Hydraulic Evaluation completed in 2003 by Hatch Mott McDonald, indicated a long-range need (2020) to construct a water storage tank at the location of the ECUA Carriage Hills Well, which is located to the south of Michigan Avenue near the Carriage Hill Apartments. This need was re-confirmed by the most recent Master Plan completed in October, 2015. As such, the ECUA Board approved the capital Improvement Project - Carriage Hills Tank and Water Treatment Facility through bidding in its 2011 Budget, and awarded the bid to Vision Construction Ent., LLC in October 2015. This project involved the construction of a new water treatment facility, a 2- million-gallon ground storage tank, and a 4,000 gallons-per-minute (gpm) pumping facility at the existing Carriage Hills well site. The facilities were completed and placed in service on May 1, 2017, and will be a key component of the ECUA's water system, assuring sufficient and reliable flow and pressure in this area for decades to come.
