Case Study - SAKS OFF 5TH Avenue Responsive Website

Website Motive
Saks has retail stores on New York's 34th Street. They wanted to design online shopping experience for their customers. Shopping experience can become a tiresome experience because of the tens of thousands of choices, thats why organized content and good navigation structure is required. Buyers want more choices but we simply don’t want to get paralyzed by choices. The Saks Fifth Avenue site was already LIVE but they wanted to design another ecommerse website on Demandware Platform for their new brand called Saks OFF 5th Avenue. 

My Role : 
While working with Sapient, I got opportunity to work on this project. My project manager Mr. Pragya Nandan approached me with the idea to design online shopping experience for the Project called Saks OFF Fifth Avenue and I immediately agreed to work with him on this project. My job was to design the HOMEPAGE layout that understands users’ tastes and shows products that fit their tastes.  Also to organized the content, site map with good navigation structure. To work on their promotional banners, flyers to promote their brand. 
I begin with some research :  What client wants to achieve with the website. Purpose of the project. 
Users Demographic Details: Who users are and how they’d use the product; their age, occupation, personality, characteristics, behavior patterns, etc. Studied 
Features client want to add in the website and how they are relevant to the goals.
Competitors Research - I studied about their competitors and how they are different from their competitors.
Constraints: Technology, deadline, etc.
Client's existing website - I tried to find out existing product, to get a better understanding of the product. 

I tried to get all the information that could help me to understand the users, their requirement and their behavior such as, survey results, customer feedback, site analytics reports, user testing videos, etc. from the client.

BRANDING

I worked for their brand promotion. Saks created the entire brand platform, implemented it across the 66-store network, and continued to deploy it in all channels. Today Saks OFF 5TH is among the most successful big box discount retailers in the country.

The more! rewards program name and brand was developed by Sapient to engage growth and encourage loyalty among outlet consumers. The distinctive bright red program has allowed Saks to develop deeper relationships with their customers based on demographics and consumer behavior.
