Scenario:

A woman wakes up in the middle of the night. She tries to find her way
to the washroom without bumping into things. When she enters the
bathroom her bathroom caddy senses her movement and creates an
ambient light. A light enough to see what she needs to do. After she
completes her nightly routine she goes back to bed. The following
morning she wakes up, and heads over the washroom. On her bathroom
caddy her jewellery is pre-arranged from the night before. As she grabs
her toothbrush and toothpaste off the caddy she continues on with her
routine.

Design Brief

To create an ambient night light for a washroom that enables an
individual to complete a task without over exposure to light in the
middle of night. Congruently applying Karim Rashid’s philosophy “create
one object with three functions”.

Problems
- no bathroom caddies that have motion sensors and lighting built into
them
- lack of vison at night
- most motion sensors on market are too bright
- people not wanting to turn lights on in bathroom during middle of night
because light may wake them up
To create a storage space that intergrates beautification, daily functions, and lighting needs in the bathroom
