ECS - Employee Communication Service
Problem
Southern Company has no central notification management system for its internal facing enterprise application.

Design Objective
An application that allows administrators of Applications to create push notification templates and manage notifications for each application.

Timeline
I was given a total of 4 hours to dedicate to this project. I knew this meant the approach needed to be quick, and to the point.

Users
Administrators
Have access to multiple applications, create notification templates, and are in charge of communication from the company to its employees.
Project Managers
In charge of communication on a project level. Submit Notifications for approval by administrators.
Application Developers
In charge of communication for application maintenance and updates. An additional use case would allow developers to quickly create test content for applications in development.
Ideation
I started by sketching wireframes informed by the Information Architecture. The content hierarchy is : Applications > Notification Channels > Notification Management > Templates. There were requests by users to add a search functionality as well as a quick way to add content based on context.
Prototype
I created a low fidelity interactive prototype in Adobe XD as a deliverable for the Interaction Designer and Developers looking to implement this application. I knew the constraints that would be placed on both individuals in terms of front end technology. I designed this application with Bootstrap 3 and Kendo UI in mind.
