FELCO
The basis of these shoes was amalgamation of felt and cork. The basic material for the con- struction of the sole of the shoe are two layers of cork and the top portion is made up of felt. This uniquely shaped shoe takes its inspiration from traditionally hand crafted Indian shoes, commonly know as “juttis.” They are either made from ne leather and silk with decorative elements on the surface. Felco, which have a similar essence as that of juttis, is made by felt and cork.
They are brightly colored with clean curves, impeccable nish, commitment to quality and uniqueness of product. Every thing about FEL- CO oozes craftsmanship and hand made atten- tion to detail. The blue green yellow bands of silk that can seen on the shoe are made by mix- ing up to three different colors of woo. Threads are rst knitted together to blend them in and then all of the layers are friction pressed with the help of soapy hot water.
After the felt is ready it was then pattern cut and sewed on the cork sole according to the mea- surements. Felt was chosen, as it is a very soft natural material that would be a delight for the feet. The leather and tassels accents make the shoe more beautiful and charismatic.
