"Igualando Carballo" is a program of activities in many educational centers in Galicia on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day.
This program is made up of workshops with primary school students, where they are trained and invited to reflect on gender equality. This first phase culminates with the celebration of the contest "The history of women in the municipality of Carballo", where students investigate the life of the female characters linked in some way to the locality.
The goal is to learn and value the role of women in local history, so they must prepare a story about the life of the woman they decide, whether familiar or familiar. They will have to pick up aspects of their childhood, games, studies, maturity, household work, the life of women in their environment and the discrimination they suffered from being women.
A group of projects were started throughout the month, to understand better the significance of the date of March 8, because this is not an only one-day struggle.

Igualando Carballo es un programa de actividades en centros educativos que se desarrolló en el municipio coruñés con motivo de la celebración del día internacional de la mujer.
Este programa se compone de talleres con alumnos de cuarto de primaria, donde se les forma e invita a la reflexión acerca de la igualdad de género. Esta primera fase culmina con la celebración del concurso “La historia de las mujeres en el municipio de Carballo”, donde los estudiantes investigan sobre la vida de los personajes femeninos vinculados de alguna manera a la localidad.
El objetivo es aprender a valorar el papel que tuvo la mujer en la historia local, y para ello deben preparar una historia charlando la vida de la mujer que decidan, ya sea familiar o conocida. Tendrán que recoger los aspectos de su infancia, juegos, estudios, la madurez, las tareas del hogar, el trabajo, la vida de las mujeres en su entorno y las discriminaciones que sufrieron por el hecho de ser mujeres.
Se inició así, y durante todo el mes, una serie de proyectos conjuntos para comprender mejor el significado de la fecha de 8 de marzo, y que esta no es una lucha de un solo día.
