Providing opportunities for local businesses and designers to prosper through a freelance platform.
Emerging designers and developers lack professional connections while local businesses need reliable and affordable talent. This is why localist was born, an app that connects designers and developers with local businesses through freelance work. We are solving two problems in one strike, giving designers and developers experiences and network opportunities which are lacking nowadays and giving local businesses have access to affordable, quality design work.
localist allows you to look for local jobs as a freelancer, rather than making you post your work and hope that someone discovers you in the void that is the internet. Furthermore, by starting out local, we give emerging designers a bigger chance at getting a job, by reducing the number of applicants and actually having other competitors have the same skill level as you do.
We also provide a platform to allow easier communication between client and freelancer to be able to solve matters quicker and without complications that is texting or Skyping with people in other cities. Another one of the features is a project roadmap, which allows you to keep your projects organized and notifies you when you have due dates and other responsibilities.
Designers tend to undervalue themselves and so they cheapen their work and skills, and sometimes businesses don’t know how much to pay for design services. So, to make things fair to both parties, we provide a negotiation where they both set a price range and then we act as moderators to give a fair treatment which then they both agree to by accepting the terms.
This is localist, a new way to experience freelance work and to make local communities be better together.
