my response.

1. My inspiration for the first brooch was a painting of Vincent van Gogh, "The Starry Night". I translated the patterns into textured metal and I have added some glass beads to relate to the artist's colour palette. 

2. I really liked the brooch I was given but the task was to change it. It was pretty much flat so I have decided to make it more 3D. Also, I have added a string with some small copper elements to add a bit of movement and playfulness.
