Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher, is considered to be the founder of Taoism. His teachings were compiled into the Tao Te Ching (The Way and Its Power). Since earliest times, Chinese thought has been characterized by an awareness of man's close relationship with nature and the universe. In this piece, through his journey, he becomes one with the nature. The concept explores a spiritual journey of a man who finds his own path in life. I was inspired by the quote “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” by Lao Tzu. The technique for this project is paint-on-glass using ink to express Lao Tzu's profound and philosophical thought and teachings. The transparent quality of ink with the cream color is a great match with drawing and painting in Chinese traditional paintings that represents their way of life.
