Front Porch Politics

FrontPorch Politics, explores thephysical and psychological space of the front of our homes. Be it an estate oran apartment, the front of an abode is as much of a personality statement asthe clothes we wear. The home often suffers from “mullet envy”: all business onthe front and a party on the back. How we organize and arrange this defined space, the front porchor yard, is a decision made and remade countless times while we live in thatspace. The décor decisions are political in both literal and figurative terms. My images explore variousways in which homeowners define their personal property’s space. The houseswere photographed in Cass Township, East Brunswick Township, Pine Grove,Schuylkill Haven and St. Clair, Pennsylvania as well as Alexandria and FairfaxVirginia.
