For the last 9 years I have been working freelance for several clients including: Andrews
Estate Agents, Law Express, INASP and Science City of Bristol, both on and off site.
Over these years I've worked on many projects small and large and I enjoy working in house, building, updating and enhancing brands and materials that work alongside ie helping them keep their literature/website up-to-date, artworking adverts, brochures, leaflets, retouching images, creating banners and stands etc..
Creative wise you can see snippets of work below - using Adobe Creative Suite - and whilst the creative is a big part of the process (working up campaign visuals and creating the final artwork), so is... Liaising with clients, working up campaign visuals, asking questions to gain further insight on the projects, ie how long the project will run, to whom the project is aimed, date of launch, the message, are there any brand guidelines, the format in which the project is to be created and what other resources they have within their operation - ie copywriter, proof reader and anything else that will help in creating a successful project.
The role of an artworker, creative or otherwise, is diverse roll and we find ourselves with a whole range of skills which results in our positions over lapping others. I began in a reprographics role morphing into a Apple Mac operator role, progressing to a artworker in a design agency to a senior artworker dipping in and out of a creative artworker position and sometimes becoming the account manager too. Not wishing to call myself and all-rounder but in essence this is how I would define where I am today.
